| for the past month or so, sleep as been a bit of a luxary to me. now, i'm drowning myself in Z's. it's an amazingly refreshing feeling to wake up fully rested and your hair plastered to your face from motionless slumber.
lately, i've been obsessed with a number of things: wire storage units, ultimate frisbee, and john legend's get lifted. the wire storage units have saved my closet from looking like it's throwing up clothes and i'm trying a new system to organize the many hoodies, sweatshirts and track jackets i have. i'm dividing them by zipper types...yeah, now that i've said it out loud, it doesn't sound too efficient.
i've been playing ultimate frisbee quite a bit lately. every once in a while, i'll get such a craving to go run around on the soccer field and throw a frisbee around. i've met some new friends through playing so, i guess that that has been a new interest of mine...my new friends, my nonmusic friends. so refreshingly different.
stay with you by john legend is probably my favorite song at the moment. the mushy, girly, nostalgic part of me cries when hearing the words. but i love it. this album is surprisingly very good. i don't normally listen to this genre of music but for some reason, i've fallen in love with this album.

| i have a wedding gig on saturday night which may ruin my plans for the weekend. the plan was patoka lake. watering skiing, boating, branch swinging into the water, and tubing...all things i have never done. plus laziness, floating in the water, baking in the sun...mmmm. oh well, it's fun or money...and i suppose having money isn't bad either.
there are three other options which are only slightly, maybe a little more than slightly less appealing than the lake. 1.) a cookout and swimming in toledo with blair's family and friends. then possibly watching fireworks. 2.) columbus to visit old friends, watch fireworks by the river and other columbus like things. like...carribu coffee and sushi ordering. 3.) stay in the nati and watch fireworks on the rooftop, possibly have a small cookout and go to scott's mixed drink party.
so...at least i have other options.
| i'm in louisville. visiting nick and his family. it's so odd being here. this morning i helped his parents make breakfast...eggs, sausage, pancakes, bacon and orange juice. we sat and ate together. there's a wooded area behind his house so there's always some kind of animal roaming around.
last night his dad took us out for dinner and then to a baseball game. riverbats won, the home team. nick and i shared a coke and cotton candy. my tongue was pink until after breakfast this morning...even after 3 long brushes. it was pretty muggy outside but the game was fun anyway. i think i like the atmosphere of baseball games more than i like the game itself. i can never stand to watch it on TV but i love going to games.
every time i come here to visit, a part of me (a small part) becomes kind of depressed. only because i wish my family was more like this one. one time i came over and nick's dad showed me some family videos they'd gathered over the years. there must have been dozens of them. i've asked my mom to see baby pictures of me and i've seen just a few. not that i hate my family because i don't. sometimes i just wish i was as close to my parents...especially my mom. we've just never gotten along very well...
everyone in nick's family is just so nice and welcoming. i really love being around them.
| everything has changed and i'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing yet. i'm beginning to understand that sometimes change will remain...and this house is the only thing that i have that will never decieve me. every time i come back, it's like i left it. | | |
